CARLINVILLE CAMPUS: MONDAY NIGHTS @ 7pm
Galatians 5:1 - "Christ has set us FREE to live a FREE life, so take your stand!"
What is LivingFree?
LivingFree is a ministry designed to help hurting people. It is made up of regular folks like you and me, who are on a journey toward wholeness; seeking recovery from and celebrating God's healing of life's hurts, habits and hang-ups. Trained leaders provide safe, confidential, Christ-centered groups where people can grow. They offer their stories as fellow travelers on the journey to healing.
At LivingFree we believe that change is possible by the power of Jesus through these Biblical programs.
LivingFree Principles of Recovery & Freedom
PRINCIPLE 1 (Step 1): Realize I'm not God. I admit that I am powerless to control my tendency to do the wrong thing and that my life is unmanageable. - Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. -Matthew 5:3
PRINCIPLE 2 (Step 2): Earnestly believe that God exsists, that I matter to Him, and that HE has the power to help me recover. - Blessed are those who morn, for they will be comforted. -Matthew 5:4
PRINCIPLE 3 (Step 3): Consciously choose to commit all my life and will to Christ's care and control. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. -Matthew 5:5
PRINCIPLE 4 (Steps 4&5): Openly examine and confess my faults to myself, to God, and to someone I trust. - Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. -Matthew 5:8
PRINCIPLE 5 (Steps 6&7): Voluntarily submit to every change God wants to make in my life and humbly ask Him to remove my character defects. - Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. -Matthew 5:6
PRINCIPLE 6 (Steps 8&9): Evaluate all my relationships. Offer forgiveness to those who have hurt me and make amends for harm I've done to others, except
when to do so would harm them or others. - Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy...Blessed are the peace
makers, for they will be called sons of God. Matthew 5:7,9
PRINCIPLE 7 (Steps 10&11): Reserve a daily time with God for self-examination, Bible reading, and prayer in order to know God and His will for my life and to gain the power to follow His will.
PRINCIPLE 8 (Step 12): Yield myself to God to be used to bring this Good News to others, by both my example and my words. - Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. -Matthew 5:10
